Bethel Bible Church of Winamac, Indiana is an independent, Bible-based church in a rural setting. We are a church of about 175 people seeking to reach out to our community and world with the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Current staff includes an assistant pastor, a morning and afternoon secretary, and a janitor. We are seeking a man with 7 to 10 years of full-time ministry experience. MDiv is preferred.

Our former Senior Pastor, Dave Childs, has been called to a new ministry at Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, West Virginia. Job Title:  Pastor-Teacher

Responsibilities:  Lead and teach the congregation of Jacksonville Bible Church by:  spending time with God and in the study of His Word to prepare himself as a leader, teacher and shepherd; fulfilling the responsibilities of an elder as a fellow elder; providing overall leadership, with the Elders, to the Body of Christ; providing leadership to the Elders, Deacons and other Church staff members especially in matters of doctrine, Bible exposition and interpretation; being responsible for planning, with the Elders, the teaching ministries of the Church; preparing and delivering Sunday Sermons; planning and leading training for the church leadership team; encouraging and discipling small group leaders and discipleship group leaders.  With the Elders, lead the programmed ministries of the Church by:  doing Communion, Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, etc.; preparing and teaching Adult Sunday School; recruiting Christian education program leaders; preparing and coordinating annual congregational meetings; providing counseling for church members - personal counseling, marital counseling, crisis intervention and counseling.  In conjunction with the Elders and Deacons do necessary visitation such as: hospital visitation; home visitation; workplace visitation; jail visitation; Funeral Home visits; Baptismal counseling with each candidate; visiting / calling inactive members; resolving problems between church members.

Qualifications:  Must meet qualifications of Elder as BROADLY defined in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1; must have wholehearted support of wife & older children, if married; must have theological training (Master of Arts in Religion minimum); must be an expository preacher; must be trained in homiletics; must be ordained; must support evangelism and missions; must be open to "blended" worship music styles; must be able to provide biblical counseling; must have a love for people; must be self-motivated / take the initiative (being a "visionary" is not required); must be articulate; prefer a family man; prefer strong administrative skills (a willingness to delegate); prefer previous full-time pastoral ministry experience.
